RecycleNOW Philadelphia: A Campaign of the Recycling Alliance of Philadelphia

Clean Air Council is a founding member of the Recycling Alliance of Philadelphia. The Alliance is a coalition of organizations and individuals working together to promote expanded recycling in the City of Philadelphia in order to improve the environment, economy, and quality of life in our City. The Alliance advocates for public policy and direct action to result in more recycling by more people, waste reduction, and a movement towards zero waste.

In 2005 the Recycling Alliance launched the RecycleNOW Philadelphia campaign. RecycleNOW Philadelphia called on the City of Philadelphia to implement weekly, single stream, incentive based, curbside recycling. RecycleNOW has collected over 12,000 petition signatures, spearheaded the city council hearing on recycling in February 2007, and helped foster an unprecedented environmental awareness in city government and politics.

Help your neighborhood be clean and green!

In partnership with RecycleBank, the company behind the Philadelphia Recycling Rewards program, RecycleNOW Philadelphia is now training community recycling activists to sign people up for the program so we can help more people recycle more material. You can help make a difference in your community by helping to sign-up your neighbors, co-workers, friends, family, church members, reading club, or anyone else!
