CURRENT GRANT OPPORTUNITIES (REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS OR RFPS)

U.S. EPA National Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program 2008
U.S. EPA will be announcing regional RFPs for clean diesel funding soon. Specific information is forthcoming, but U.S. EPA recently held a conference call to provide general information on its upcoming funding plans. Under the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act, U.S. EPA will have approximately $49 million to devote towards clean diesel projects this year. U.S. EPA Community Action for a Renewed Environment (CARE) Program 2008
U.S. EPA announces the availability of funds through the CARE Program. CARE is a unique community-based, community-driven, multimedia demonstration program designed to help communities understand and reduce risks due to toxics and environmental pollutants from all sources. U.S. EPA anticipates awarding 5 to 10 Level I cooperative agreements ranging in value from $75,000 to $100,000 and 6 to 8 Level II cooperative agreements ranging in value from $150,000 to $300,000. US. EPA Region 3 - Mid-Atlantic Diesel Collaborative - Port Sector Demonstration Project RFP FY 2007
U.S. EPA Region 3 is accepting proposals to fund marine port demonstration projects in DC, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. Projects can include the use of emission reducing control technologies and strategies. Such projects should demonstrate the effectiveness of on-road verified control technologies in innovative off-road applications at marine ports and terminals. Total estimated funding is $750,000. Awards will range from $100,000 to $750,000. PROPOSALS ARE DUE DECEMBER 7, 2007. Jump HERE for the RFP in PDF format.

Mid-Atlantic Regional Small Business Anti-Idling Initiative
MARAMA is administering this grant, which provides funding to independent truckers and small trucking companies to purchase Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) for their trucks to reduce idling. Only small businesses (those with less than 50 trucks) are eligible to apply. A maximum of $3,000 will be awarded to any one applicant and a total of $24,000 is expected to be available for Pennsylvania. Visit the PROJECT'S WEBSITE for more information. U.S. EPA National Clean Diesel Demonstration Assistance - Clean Diesel Off-Road Port Equipment Grant Program
Clean Air Council has approximately $89,500 to reimburse Philadelphia Port facilities that retrofit their off-road Port-related equipment with clean diesel technologies and/or fuel their equipment with ULSD. U.S. EPA awarded this funding to the Council through its "National Clean Diesel Campaign Demonstration Assistance Agreements" program. The Council is currently looking for Port facilities that are eligible for this funding. THERE IS NO SET DEADLINE FOR THIS PROGRAM AND THE COUNCIL IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR REBATES NOW. THIS GRANT OPPORTUNITY WILL BE OPEN AS LONG AS THE COUNCIL HAS FUNDS REMAINING. Jump HERE for an informational flyer on the program.
