With “smog season” now under way, this is the perfect time to begin receiving free air quality forecasts via email from Clean Air Council. Poor air quality threatens the health of all people, but can be particularly harmful for children, asthmatics, senior citizens and those who exert a lot of physical energy outdoors, such as joggers and other athletes. Air pollution is actually worse on some days than others, depending on the weather and other factors. Experts are now able to provide you with advanced notice when air quality is expected to be poor.
The air quality forecasts from Clean Air
Council can help you plan your day to limit outdoor activities
during times when air quality is at its worst. You
can choose to receive daily forecasts or simply to be emailed
when air quality is forecast to be unhealthy. In addition
to the forecasts, the emails include a report of the day’s
actual air quality levels and tips on ways you can help
reduce air pollution.
PLEASE NOTE: air quality forecasts and
daily reports on air quality levels by email are currently
only available for the Greater Philadelphia region.
If you have any questions, please contact Eric Cheung at echeung@cleanair.org or (215) 567-4004 ext. 114.
