Information for Employees
MAP can make your commute easier, healthier, and less expensive. Read below to see how!
You can also visit the employers page for information on services that your employer can provide to improve your commute.
Information for Share-A-Ride, Emergency Ride Home, Using Transit, and Bicycling & Walking are listed below.
Also view the MAP: Information for Employees handbook for more information.
Share-A-Ride:
The Share-A-Ride program is an easy and convenient way for employees to commute to work everyday. Share-A-Ride matches employees that live near or around the same area, creating an easy commute alternative to the Single Occupancy Vehicle. If one of the matched employees cannot join the other for the ride home as well, this program even offers emergency rides home!

Using Transit:
If the employment site is close to transit, it may already provide a convenient and low-stress commute option. Buses, trains, subways and trolleys all move over 400,000 people a day in the Delaware Valley.
Even if the worksite is convenient to SEPTA or other transit services, the company’s employees may not be aware of when or where the bus or train operates, or how to use the service. This is not an uncommon problem, and one that is easily remedied. First, employers should be familiar with the services available to them and the schedules of those services. Then, they must pass that information on to employees.

Bicycling & Walking:
If possible, consider bicycling or walking to work. Some workplaces provide shower/locker facilities in order to encourage employees to use their bicycles rather than cars. If these facilities are not available, employees should encourage management to install bike racks and other amenities. Also, shower/locker facilities could benefit employees that don't necessarily walk or bike, but visit the gym during lunch break.
