Who will use the East Coast Greenway in Pennsylvania?

Visitors:
Southeastern Pennsylvania's historic, cultural, and transportation highlights will encourage East Coast Greenway users traveling through Pennsylvania to visit area sites, bringing tourism dollars throughout the state. Connections to other trail systems such as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Bicycle PA trail system, and local parks like Fairmount Park, will encourage users to explore the area on the bicycles and by foot. Tourists will also be encouraged to use Pennsylvania as a place to end or begin the East Coast Greenway experience via the states connections to air, train, and public transportation travel options.

Residents:
Those who live in southeastern Pennsylvania will use the East Coast Greenway as an exercise path or daily commuting route. The safe, environmentally friendly travel opportunities generated by the East Coast Greenway will allow local residents to use the East Coast Greenway to bike or walk to work or to a neighbor's house or the grocery store. The Greenway's landscaping designs, benches, and lighting will also bring safe, green park areas to urban and suburban residents. The addition of the East Coast Greenway to the area's industrial landscape and the tourism dollars Greenway users generate will spur redevelopment of area neighborhoods and towns.

The East Coast Greenway is a fantastic opportunity to improve the quality of life in Pennsylvania for residents, and long and short distance travelers to the region. Clean Air Council is proud to be leading the charge!
