CHILDREN'S HEALTH ADVISERS TO HELP EPA DEVELOP PLAN FOR FLAME RETARDANTS

An EPA advisory committee, the Children's Health Protection Advisory Committee, creates a task force to help the agency as it develops an action plan for controlling certain flame retardant chemicals. The agency is working to decide what types of action may be needed to limit the public's exposure to flame retardants known as polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), according to an EPA official.
