Moving Philadelphia along?



Dean Kamen, creator of the Segway, described the machine at its unveiling as "the world's first self-balancing human transporter." Not unlike an upright scooter, a rider on the Segway leans slightly forward or backward to move, and turns the right handlebar forward or backward to turn left or right. Segway is in the process of being tested by both the U.S. government and the business community for what could be widespread use across the country. Given pending legislation in the Pennsylvania House and Senate, you could be seeing the Segway on the streets of Philadelphia in the next few months.
